I have two H's in the shop now that I really believe to be 100% original and 
they are both the same color (a yellowish brown with lots of black specks) 
on the back as they are on the sides. I can't say about an "I"

Does anyone know of a way to reproduce the "rough" texture black paint used 
on the rear section of the AMI "I" (and I think "H") cabinets?  On previous 
restorations I have just been able to paint over the existing texture. On my 
current project, repair of  cabinet damage has removed some of this texture 
and I need to replace it.
