I guess what you need is some "Artex" - do you still get that sort of thing in the likes of B&Q?

You can try using rollers with different textures to reproduce the original
finish. Use thick base paint.

Ami H came with either black cabinet with gold specks and black vinyl on the
front.

Or yellow cabinet with specks and copper vinyl front.

Both colours had the "rough" surface texture.
