You say that you did the adjustment listed on page 23 of the manual for the
position of tone arm cam, - if not, - you need to check that. In fact, you
may want to check all adjustments from page 21 through 26 if your dropping
records. Also, the complete freedom of the gripper to grab, release, pickup
and turn without binding or sticking anywhere is very important. I wouldn't
bend, (or reform) as we used to say at Wurlitzer, anything unless your
positive you know that it's the problem. Oh, don't forget to check the cam
spring on page128 for proper tension.

I have the do have the manual, unfortunately it does not illustrate or
describe the tone arm mechanics, except for the very basics which I've done.
I have fined tuned it and have the box playing but the arm does not seem to
get to the right height and occasionally will jam a record. I think
something got bent like Ron and Kyle have suggested and the only way of
repairing this would be a photo of the mech. So If anyone out there has a
Rock #488 and can take a photo of the lift lever and cam pin assembly I
would certainly appreciated it. I think the mech is pretty much the same in
Rocks 480,484,481,490

Purchase the service manual for your jukebox.

It's possible that something got bent when you had the other cartridge in.
CYCLE AND OBSERVE.
Take the needle out when doing all this at first to avoid bending it.

The end of record trip AND the height of the tonearm are easy adjustments
covered in the manual.

Honestly, if you're savvy enough to change a cartridge, you should be able
to look and see the switch that trips the cycle at the end of the record,
and also see what is lifting the tonearm during it's cycle and any
adjustments that may be associated with it.

It's pretty easy on a Rock Ola. Try not to worry. Both are easily
remedied.
