[Jukebox-list] iPod on a jukebox...

Well...
All I did was hook up the iPod to the input side of the amplifier. I was
able to control the volume from the iPod since it is amplified
already, but that's with the amp out of the juke...
In order for this to work from outside the juke, I would have to be able to
energize the relay to the amp so it warms up
And bypass the tone arm input. Not to mention something to 'park' the iPod
in outside the juke that doesn't take away from the jukes heritage.
I would also suggest that the others who have contributed to this post are
correct about the amplifier theory pieces and one should take care not
to overdrive the amplifer or speaker with the iPod. I was barely out of '0'
to drive my amp - and any gain moved towards distortion quickly.
Anyway, it was an interesting experiment. I won't put it into production on
my 1015... but it WOULD be interesting if someone did give it some effort...
who knows it might help market some of our boxes.
my $.02
Jeff
