Wes,
I saw quite a few of the 160TM-7 units that had a problem when they were new. Seeburg purchased some diodes from an alternate supplier ( that's an synonym for "cheep"), that were prone to shorting out. We opened many TMU's to replace those diodes, but I would have to assume that by this time, either they are good, or have been replaced. FYI, ANYtime you see a 1N400x type diode (DO-41 case) used, in any application, in a Seeburg, that has a brown colored ring on it, it should be replaced, as those are the type that were bad.

Ron, I re-agree. The only Trormat I had to repair was one that was
opened by a person who knew not what he doeth. Wes

Wes,
I agree with you on this--BUT--only if "people" keep their "paws" out of
the Tormat Unit itself.(for those of you who do not know, there is NOTHING
inside the Tormat to "fix"--just things to brake) Ron Rich

JC, one factor in my expertise includes the Tormat system as used in the
earlier Seeburgs. I consider these types 'hybrids' because they do not use a
CPU. The components used
in the controllers are discrete and are easily replaced. I believe because
of this fact, they should be around long after later systems will be
relegated to the scrap heap. Wes
