[Jukebox-list] 50's AMI amplifiers

Yesterday I looked at a couple of AMI mono amplifiers, one had the nameplate
that said model "DD", the other was missing the nameplate, but except for the
color of the paint looked identical. The one with the nameplate was a tan
color and the one without was black, both had the yellow silk-screening on
them that identified tube sockets etc.

My manual for the D-80 says it uses an R-111 amplifier, but the pictures
sure look like the black one I saw yesterday (although the pictures are
black & white, it looks like it is dark in color). My manual for the
E-80 and E-120 says they used either the R-111 or the R-105 amplifier,
which looks an awful lot like the tan one I saw yesterday (again, the
pictures are black & white, but it looks lighter in color than the
pictured amp in the D manual).

Are these amps the ones I seem to see in the manuals? I see no "DD" designation
in any of the literature.
