I would think you could find another LPC mech fairly easily and take parts 
from it.
Once upon a time, this was talked about, including which gear set would 
work, and which wouldn't, to go to 45 only operation.
The 160 machines LPC1 through SS160 were dedicated 33 base, so off hand, I'd 
think any original gear set from one of those should work.

You'll also need a speed unit, and be prepared to re-cap it.  Butterfield 
has tons of them cheap, and if it doesn't work, the cap kit is simple to 
install and not expensive.  Try ebay, too.  There's units on all the time.
