[Jukebox-list] Wurlitzer 1015 motor

Last week I looked at a 1015 motor that was not starting. I thought the problem was the centrifugal starting switch, the copper slip rings were very dirty and greasy. I cleaned them up and the motor started fine on the bench, even while I simulated the load by holding the shaft. I could also see the 10 amp starting current being drawn momentarily on my meter. I sent it back to the customer (He's 150 miles away) and he is still having problems with it. The carbon block that connects the 2 slip rings when the motor is stationary is wedge shaped - is this correct or is it badly worn?? Has anyone ever had to replace one of these - what shape / dimensions should it be?

Thanks in advance,

Adrian.
