Dave,
I would guess that I have seen at least 25 or so--the last one was about a year ago, when I got a complaint about a RoweAMi CD that "lost a channel". I pulled the amp cover, which on this one, is a large metal shield, and saw a "rough hole" in that cover. I kind of scratched my head over that, as I was not told about the shooting. I then took the amp out and looked at it. I could not see anything, so I installed the replacement amp and re installed the cover after testing that both channels were working.
I then took the amp home, removed the cover over the outputs, and saw a bullet lodged in one of the output transistors.
I had a call on the same phono the next week--the paper $ acceptor was bad. We looked for the bullet hole, which was very difficult to find as the bullet had entered at an angle, where the lower door met the cabinet. Not even a "light leak" there--went thru the rubber seal---
