I didn't know about the "swarth" issue - interesting. You would think
that they would have had some kind of automatic brush to keep the swarth
out of the way - odd no one seemed to develop one.
I stand corrected - you are right: variable-area and variable-density are
two different things. Currently (in addition to the various digital
encoded sound on film systems) variable-area is what you'll see on the
"sound track" portion of modern film. Also it is varying widths of
_white_ on a black background on the sound track - not the other way
around.
BTW, What are list rules for picure attachments? I have to pictures
(only about 37KB each) that very well show how sound if encoded on film.
