[Jukebox-list] AMI E120 procedure for aligning racks?

Hey guys,
Restoring an AMI E120 from a bunch of parts in boxes. Got the mechanism
working fairly well, except for a couple of small gremlins. One of the
gremlins that's plaguing me is the record rack alignment. While
scanning, the gripper will drag on records inconsistently. There seems
to be some slop in the mechanism that causes a drag in one direction to
be perfect alignment in the other. Some "drags" make the records
physically move in the rack, but when the mech is stopped on that
portion of the rack, everything appears to line up perfectly, both
vertically and laterally when viewed from the side of the rack. I've
adjusted the bolts till I'm blue in the face. Is there a "proper"
procedure for this? The service manuals don't seem to give any
information on alignment except for turntable-to-gripper. I've noticed
some of the AMI E's on Youtube do the same thing as well. Is this just
a quirk of this series? How do our wise experts deal with this?
Thank you!
