The mech rides on 2 guide rails, so if they are tight and the bushings are 
not worn out, it should not matter which direction the mech is traveling. I 
would check to see if the gripper is opening all the way everytime - the cam 
switches can cause problems here. Record diameter can vary as well - compare 
the ones that are dragging to others that aren't. Good luck,
