Only if the location was a dive.  Respectable locations got
the top of the line equipment every year or so and the rest
trickled down.  An old jukebox operator in Tacoma who I
bought some boxes from told me that in the 50s he had to
pay the city dump $35 apiece to take Fuller-styled 
Wurlitzers.  He paid it because the machines were considered
dogs by then and they were taking up valuable space in his
warehouse.

Maybe sometimes, but I've seen a lot of movies and TV
shows set in the 50s with 1015s.  Remember "Back to the
Future?"  They should have known better.
