It's a good deal if you can really be sure it's in good shape and working
properly. Working properly may entail playing it for an hour or more to be
sure it doesn't start skipping (dropouts, giving up on a cd altogether,
etc). In that price range, it probably has slots for only 50 CD's instead of
the later models that held 100 and has not been upgraded to a Proplayer.
It's not a huge deal to upgrade one to 100 cd's but to upgrade to a
proplayer from a CDM3 or CDM4 is about $800. If it's not playing correctly,
has a CDM3 or CDM4 you might get away with having the player rebuilt if it's
for home use and won't see commercial service. But, even though the player
is usually the problem in the case of CDM3's and CDM4's, it might not be the
case. The computer can be at fault as well.
Bottom line is if the machine is in overall good condition and plays well
it's a good deal. Sounds like an older machine though that may require
future servicing so if you're looking for a jukebox that will play forever
with no investment, as with most, you'd better look really close at it.
