Fwd: [Jukebox-list] AMI amp rebuild

There are two ways to trouble shoot this that I can think of--1. Lift the tone arm off the record--if the noise is gone, check the needle pressure, cart mounts, turntable grommets, idler wheel pressure, TT / idler wheel / tone arm "post" lubrication, and the idler wheel spring pressure. 2. Turn off AC to the TT motor--same checks as above if noise is gone. If neither test will eliminate the noise, it's self contained in the amp. Ron Rich

Subject: [Jukebox-list] AMI amp rebuild

I have just completed the rebuild of the amp in my AMI TI-1. It sounds pretty good except for this low pitched
whoop, whoop, whoop which seems to be in time with the turn table revolutions. Any one out there have any
idea of what causes this annoying sound or how I can silence it? TIA.
