Hi Jim,
I think you are right about the sand blasting. I believe the seller did this him self (looks good, but maybe too much on the blasting). Anyway, I just bought a set of 25w candelabra (pointy) style bulbs that are thinner than the globe style, so maybe since they are not too much higher in wattage and further away from the cardboard, there won't be a fire? What do you think? I won't drill holes in the original door. I'll just leave it out or make a replacement. I haven't installed them yet to see if they look better than the small 15's or not. Thank you, Rick.

It's hard to say from here, but I would guess your replacement mirror has
been etched (or sandblasted) too much, and does not allow enough light to
pass through. If that is the case, there is not too much you can do other
than put in a brighter bulb. But I would hate for you to drill holes in the
access panel. I would either make another one or leave it out.

  Jim

Thanks Jim for the reply. How do I improve the colour showing thru? (see
item listed below in bold). The colour film has lots of colour (not faded).
I guess I could try cleaning it, but it looks ok from the inside. Thank you,
  Rick.

I just worked on a C and used 15 watt bulbs. I wouldn't go any higher than
that. The original mirror is frosted around the edges, and the 15 watt
  bulbs
    shown through just fine.

    Hi all,
I need to know the correct/ highest wattage lamps to use in the top
  coloured
arch behind the mirror in the ami C. The book does not list the wattage.
There were three 15 watt bulbs up there, but they don't seem bright enough
as the colours from the multi-colour film don't really show thru that well
(except the middle blue). Not much of a rainbow effect at all (like item
#150088361745). Mine is not that good. Is the area around the mirror
supposed to be frosted or clear? Mine is frosted (it is a replacement that
was made by the previous owner). I tried three 40 watt ceiling fan lamps
(same physical size as the ones removed) which helped the effect, but seem
way too hot (there is no ventilation up there, may drill holes in that
  back
access door or just leave it out. Don't want to burn up the cardboard and
the colour film). Thank you, Rick.
