David, this confirms my opinion of Wurlitzer designers. They were a hard-headed bunch. Wes

Never having worked on a "classic" Wurlitzer (although
I'd like to have one someday), I'm learning a lot about
them in this discussion. But what I don't understand
is Wurlitzer's apparent inability (from what I've read
here) to implement a simple credit/selection system.
What's so tough about moving some kind of pin or lever
to register a selection and moving it back when the
selection plays? Seems like they're employing a lot
a Rube Goldberg fixes to what should be a pretty simple
engineering problem.
