It definitely sounds like you're missing something.  There isn't
much correlation between 78 and 45 mechanisms, and this is an
important "safety" adjustment that must be made right. Is there
a gap in the page numbering?  Several page numbering schemes
were used in reprints, so just as a backup, what's the title
of the last page before the gap and the first page following it?
I can send you a photocopy of the missing page(s).
