Something that works really well to "color-up" an F or
G is to get cut ~3" strips of red, blue and green
lighting gels and wrap them around the flourescent
light behind the title strips.  Just alternate them
R G B R G B R G B etc.  The V-angle of the title strip
holders causes an interference pattern with the filter
strips that causes the title strip holders to glow in
a rainbow of colors.  Not really bright, just a nice
soft multi-color glow which looks wonderful in a
dimly lit room.  Wish I had a picture to post, but
it would take days to find if I'd even taken one.
Gels are cheap at any concert/event/theater lighting
place.
