Hi Francois

 The original cones were full range versions, if your new ones have foam/
rubber edges they will be more sensitive and give excessive bass and you
will need the tweeter. If they look like the originals with paper edges
then maybe the amp recapping either used values a bit too far out to sound
properly, the output transformer is going bad or the old pickup was ceramic
and the new doesn't match the amp.

you can google 'crossover' with a bit of digging you can find formulea to
work out cap sizes.
