[Jukebox-list] Rockola 1438 Slug Ejector Problem

Wes, why is it that one can restore a Seeburg C by replacing the pilasters,
color cylinders, grill cloth, grill tubes, etc, and reveneer with red oak
and everyone ooohs and aaahs over it? But change over the slug ejector, free
play it, remove the gummed up pop meter assembly, or make some internal
improvements that no one can see, and you've butchered it?

Wes,
What I do is move both dime gagues to where the dime is rejected, and use
a small wire to hold the nickel "flipper" from moving, which causes the
nickel to also be rejected. Sorry, I don't know exactly what else to call
that "flipper"--it sits just about half way down on the unit, just above
where the nickel enters the bottom. This method destroys nothing and can be
easily reversed if needed, or wanted. Ron Rich

For fear of being labeled a 'butcher' I am asking for a proper way for a
slug rejector to not accept nickels and dimes if only quarters are to be
honored. Wes
