Ron, it's a National Rejector, it doesn't have any decals on it, but 4913 appears to be stencilled in black on the body. I looked in my 1438 manual and there is a screw to loosen and install a 5 cent coin stop to slug the nickels. However, mine does not have the coin stop installed.

After cleaning and inspection I found a patch of corrosion where it appears at one time a nickel was caught at the magnet and stayed there during storage/non-use. I took the dremel with fine wire brush to it and knocked off the rust and polished the surfaces. Quarters and dimes now work fine. Nickels go through, but are ejected to slug. I still need to go back and do the lube to all points.
> Ron you mentioned to Wes about wiring the nickel flipper so that nickels go to slug, so I must have a "hanging" nickel flipper. Can you tell me where that nickel flipper is located. I can't tell much by watching the nickel go through the mech. Is it the small square white metal cast piece on one side, or is that for the dime?

Also, you should remove, and clean each "washer catcher" (wire form) to be sure that there is no dirt lodged in it. Ron Rich

Immerse the unit in the hot soapy water for a few minutes, check all ramps for dirt build up--remove any dirt build-up with a toothpick or something of that nature (nothing "metal"!). Rinse in hot water, (warm air) dry totally. Remove every "rocker". Wipe each rocker pivot post with a soft cloth, removing any dirt. Use the toothpick to clean the inside of the rocker shaft. Put one drop of silicone on a ("Q-tip") cotton swab and wipe the post--it must be dry after being "wiped". Replace the rocker and check for free movement. Next, place ONE DROP of graphite grease on each "friction point". Friction points on all units are: at the very top of the unit, at the"slug release" lever (where it is pushed down--you will see "the friction point", as a "shinny spot" or "black spot"), under that same lever where the return spring rides, just below that lever on the ramp that moves (opens) the gate, on the rear of the rejector, once again in the release

Both "rollers" that "ride" the above two ramps (front and back side of the unit), should get ONE HALF drop of 20wt. ND oil, as should the gate hinge at all friction points. No oil should be allowed to "run" anywhere. The above only needs to be done when the unit is washed. Otherwise no lubrication of any kind is suggested.
