I have not touched one of those for a long time (and don't ever plan to do so again), but it sounds like it's not cancelling the (selected) pin.  Also might be lack of lubrication problems. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will respond--Ron Rich

I have just shipped a wurly 1600 to Australia. In transit it has taken a beating and now has some issues. The machine seems to be stuck in the same cycle it keeps selecting the same record over and over and won't stop, I push the cancel button and the record stops but then it goes through the cycle again. Also as the bottom tone arm moves into position to play it gets a sudden jerk and most of the time starts about half and inch into the record the jerking happens each time but sometimes it starts in the right spot. I am also getting intermittent volume. Any help would be appreciated.
