I was over at a buddy's to check out an AMi D he just finished. He did a
nice job but there is a bug in the machine that even has me scratching my
head. When the rack motor runs, there is considerable hash/noise in the
speaker. A quick pull of the phono input confirmed it's not coming from the
cartridge or lead-in. Either the motor is generating noise picked up by an
unshielded tube, or coming back through the DC line? The brushes in the
motor are good and well seated. I have had a variety of DC motor bugs over
the years, but never seen noise to this extent. The motor itself runs fine
with plenty of torque and proper RPM. I am considering a cap to ground on
the DC line to shunt this. Anyone dealt with this before? Thanks, Justin
