[Jukebox-list] AMI I200 Scan Control

Hi,

I had the same problem on Ami I's that I restored, and replaced the perished
rubber. In England There are pens you can buy, and the bit where you grip
the pen with your finger is a tight coloured rubber tube. I removed this
from the pen, sliced it down to the same size as the rubber, and slid it
over the shaft. Worked perfectly every time. Often, if left unnoticed, the
rubber will perish and drop off, and the shaft will wear an indentation into
the actual wheel itself, and that compounds the problem of the scan not
stopping.

Regards

Nigel, UK

Subject: [Jukebox-list] AMI I200 Scan Control

Hi everyone - I've been working on my newly acquired I200, and have a few
problems. After replacing a split gear in the pulse converter, cleaning
contacts, and replacing some capacitors, I have the machine selecting
properly. However, the record basket won't stop scanning after the last
record has been played. I moved all the pins forward on the pop meter, and
can barely see that the scan wheel is slipping and does not have enough
"oomph" to operate the scan switch. I've never had this apart, and was
wondering if I can put more tension on the spring, or do I have to replace
the rubber sleeve? Anyone have a source or suggestion for a replacement
sleeve? Best way to get it apart? Also, my 12 inch speaker is missing, and
the manual only describes it as a low frequency speaker. Is this 16 ohm?
This looks like fun to install. Maybe my 5 year old can crawl inside there.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Jim
