A couple of simply tests before spending money on tech help - FIrst,
put a record on play then turn the volume up while listening to the
speakers. Do you hear ANY noise at all from them? Perhaps a
scratching sound as the volume is raised?

If no sound unplug the relay in the middle face of the amplifier (do
this while a record is playing) after turning the volume back down.
Anything now when you turn the volume back up? If so then the MUTE
circuit has problems.

If scratchy, or other noise is heard from the speakers, then try
unplugging the INPUTs (RCA jacks) on the amplifier with the volume
about 1/2 and a record playing. Hear a noise (loud hum, pop, etc.)?
If yes, then troubleshoot the wiring to the tone arm.

OK, so you've gotten to this point with no noise from the speakers
with nothing done about...Well, you have some sort of a problem that
likely needs technical assistance. First of all you did not need to
get a ceramic fuse - any glass fuse (3AG style) - of the correct type
and current would be fine there. Ceramic fuses are simply stronger
and only really needed in abusive environments (strong shocks - heavy
metal music ;-)).

Your amp should be checked that it was upgraded to the latest version
while in the shop - details on my web site:

PS, we service these amps obviously...as do others!
