I'm sorry, I've been a little pre-occupied.
Having a little knowledge of the 3100 and 3200, I should have been paying
more attention to this topic. Even being a hack, I do occasionally have
something useful to contribute!
Not having reviewed the entire dialog of messages, I'll still throw my 2
cents in. Maybe something I say will trigger a new thought process.
3300 is the last of the GOOD Wurlitzers, except when the mechanism came back
in the 1975 Lyric, which now I'm suspecting was imported. Anyway...
I have a 3200 in my office and am going to look it over to see what's on
during standby and see if I can come up with any off the wall bright ideas
for you.
A suggestion would be to disable any LP pricing unit that may be in it. Just
on the off chance it's the culprit and second, that it's not needed. Ditto
the Golden Bar, if it's equipped with that. Little or no information in the
manual about either of these units. At least they can be eliminated as
causes if disconnected.
My first obvious thought is that you're seeing it in stand-by without any
pins popped, but that doesn't mean it's blowing in stand-by, just that when
it's blowing, it's doing so before a pin is popped, but possibly caused by
activating credit or attempting to make a selection.
Is the keyboard solenoid resistor fried or the coil going?
Also, are the relays all good? Not just working, but good? I know if I
switch them around in mine, the timing changes on a couple of the functions,
most notably on the length of time the keyboard solenoid de-energizes
between selections, so I know they can still function, but not always to the
same specs.
What I like about my 3200 is that a good tinkerer can find and fix most
stuff on it. Maybe a little out of the box thinking will do the trick.
Hope some of this was useful.
