One of those "I don't know anything about this but it sure
is a great deal and very rare!" types, huh?  :-)

The record rack looks original, the record clamp does
not have the larger 45 centering post and the tone arm
does not look like it has the 45 "elbow", so I'd say
it's original 78.

I'd ask him if he can provide a picture of the back
of it, so you can see if the selection lever assembly
is there.
