[Jukebox-list] Audio question

I'm not an audiophile. If it produces music I'm prepared to listen to a
2 dollar transistor radio. However, since the discusion is going this
way I want to ask you guys, what makes you think you could ever get
true hifi from a jukebox? The turntables are built like tanks, the
record is floating in thin air picking up all kinds of vibrations, the
whole box is resonating, and the amps have dozens of loosely wired
coils in them! No wonder you love the harmonics you get from a jukebox.
It's full of harmonics! Playing an iPod on it won't get rid of the
harmonics. It just sounds good. And the information lost with
digitalisation will be lost anyway because of the hissing and popping
of the vinyl.
