You don't need the popularity solenoid unless you are tracking what records
are the most popular. Disconnect it and leave it in place or remove it
completely. I have seen a couple of mechs where the wires were cut (to make
mech removal easier?) and the mech worked fine.
For WD-40 --Use 20w non detergent oil. The popular choice is 3 and
1 "electric motor oil" NOT 3 and 1 household oil.
The main thing to avoid is any lube containing parafin. This will turn to
glue with time.
