I thought maybe the other parts were used to fix his other B he had upstairs
or his C.He showed them to me. He wants to sell them also. He says he lost
interest and doesn't play them anymore. When I asked him about the selection
reciever he played dumb in his email like he didn't know what it was.It wasn't
listed as missing in his email. The motor cap was robbed for his other B. He gave
me the old one.It did have casters and the cabinet was cleaned out.I do have
spares of some of the stuff it needs like lower back door and amp from a C.I
still want to save it.Philly is not like the lower eastern shore. Here they
think they have a gold mine and ask a mint for something antique.Like the guy at a
local flea market that wouldn't come down from $350 for a common nonworking
LPC1 in bad shape and no needles, flourescents or starters. He wanted $3950 for
a Seeburg 222 that didn't work.I got one from Washington DC craiglist around
the same time for less than half what he wanted with the Channel 1 and 2
speakers.Amp already rebuilt. Heard it play before I loaded it up. just needed the
cap in the pulse amp.If a good one showed up at a local auction the competition
is fierce so it would probably bring high.Usually the auctioneers call
dealers and let them know or adverise something like a jukebox so the dealers see it
in the ad.I had the worst competition for records ever when a big city dealer
came to the auction one time.I don't remember them ever going so high. They
were really sweet condition original rock and roll lps from the late 50s to
early 60s.Hard to find stuff like was there in that condtion.Think "Presenting
the Faboulous Ronnettes" and other rare stuff hard to find in good shape if at
all.He got the best of them after I ran him up to $500 a stack.I still got
some good ones buying the rest for $200 for all of them.Everybody else was just
standing around slack jawed in awe of what the records were bringing. This was
before ebay came along and the records are easier to find and prices
lower.Hardly any ever get traded for book value anymore.
Wow,how did you get the KD? $200 is cheap! That's a true Jackie style
deal.Did you advertise you were looking and he contacted you? It sure never was
listed on craigslist. My main problem now is I have a full of "sell jukes" so no
more room and not a lot of time since I work 6 days a week.I got to get some of
these ugly 60s jukes(just kidding but I prefer the looks of the 50s and older
and like mechanism visibilty) fixed and sold before I can get another
keeper...lol.The jury is out on the B. For now when it's fixed I'll keep it but if a
nice 78 machine(Wurlitzer 1100 or older or Rockola 1422,1426,or 1428) come
along it's gonna have to find a new home.Do you sell some of those jukes or just
have a huge house? I have advertised on Craigslist that I'm looking for a
jukebox that plays 78s and no replies have come so far.
One 80s juke I refuse to sell though. It's my 1st and has sentimental value.
My grandmother enjoyed hearing it play and she is no longer with us.My Rockola
490-1 Supersound 2.Unless I can find a person that will take care of it and I
can still see it when I want to like Jackie did her Statesman.I don't have
any kids like Jackie though.
