John,
On Craigs List I just look under "jukebox",
"jukeboxes", "juke box", "jukeboxes", "phonograph",
"record player", "jute box", "jutebox" and the brand
names such as Seeburg, AMI, Rowe, Wurlitzer, etc. Be
sure you are in the category that says "All For Sale
And Wanted" (something like that).
I never buy from Craigs unless I can go see it. I try
to be careful about the whole thing. If I am carrying
a few hundred dollars one might never know what is
happening as you enter a home or building. I try to
avoid solo visits to strange places.
>From Craigs List I have bought a pretty bad Packard
Pla Mor (but it was reasonable), a great Seeburg VL
and a Wurlitzer 750-E that was in wonderful but
unrestored consdition. These were very modestly
priced. I paid the full asking price on each because
they were so reasonable.
I bought a very nice Seeburg J some time ago. As we
were moving it out of the seller's home I could hear
the garbage truck coming. The seller said "Oh, there
are some of those selector things in the garbage if
you want them". I ran and fished out five seeburg
3W1 selectors that were in good condition. Whatever
else there may have been the garbage truck grabbed. I
don't think I missed anything good!
Good Luck!
