I just now got my Seeburg Teardrop speaker hooked up thanks to David
Breneman. Both the main and the teardrop sound great together. I painted
the speaker an ivory color and cleaned the original grill cloth with ammonia
and water and it looks great. I cannot remember who suggested this, but
thanks as well. In order to not fray the original cloth while cleaning it,
I used "Liquid Stitch" on the edges, available at fabric stores, and it sure
helped.
I acquired my C about 10 years ago and it's all original except for the
plastic pilasters and of course the new title strip plastics and grill
cloth. The box was painted a metallic brown with new kick strips and tacks.
Bill Bickers gave the amp a minor tune up several months ago and it sounds
great. I'm working with Glenn Strope on a selection problem with the "J" &
"K" buttons. I'm a little intimidated with removing the pinbank for service
right now. Glenn says it's probably a broken wire in the pin bank or Jones
plug.
