My guess, since Jackie is also on Verizon, is that Verizon is/was having 
problems with their mail server or something in between.  I wasn't 
getting mail from the list for about a day and then got flooded.  This 
has happened at least twice.  That and at least one of my outgoing mails 
never made it out.
