Britt,
My GUESS, from what you say is, it's a "ladder switch circuit", and he problem(s) are in the # 1 button. If it is a "ladder" type switch, check to see if when the # 1 button is "at rest" the connnections are made to the # 2 switch. Hope that helps--Ron Rich

Guys, you'll recall some of my postings while getting my Rockola 1438 Comet Fireball in tip top shape, everything from infamous coin/slug rejector to turntable gromets, cancel relay, and P132D cartridge installation. This newbie has learned alot from the wealth of experience on this board.
I'm down to my last problem on the 1438. When I push the #2 selector button, I hear a buzz in or around the pinbank, but nothing happens. Of course it happens on all four selections that match the #2 selection on the four sided selection drum. All other push button keys work and make selections, BUT, only #1 pushbutton works AND removes a credit in the accumulator. All higher buttons including the non-working #2 button fail to remove a credit from the accumulator. I figured I might have a problem with the #2 pushbutton switch. So, with much consternation and frustration, I figured out how to remove the push button switch bank (not an easy task). I examined the #2 button and switch, but I don't see anything out of place. The #2 and all other buttons properly operate the sliders and return to there proper position.
Any suggestions from the experts?
Thanks,
Britt
