[Jukebox-list] RE: Plastic cover needed for Rowe search unit

I'm in the UK and worked with Rowes for many years and literally I have only
ever come across a handful that had search unit covers, even when relatively
new.
In fact, I went for years without actually realising they should be there.
They are quite brittle and easy to break, and unfortunately, by design, you
have to remove them to get the search unit off.

Sorry to hear that, Ian. I try to put things out of the way, because,
careful as I am (very), I've stepped on a couple things over the years
myself. I think we all have.

It's too easy to take something off and just put it aside because you're
inspired and excited. 30 seconds later, you've already forgotten, go for a
tool, and can clobber an easy to break part.

No excuse when it's someone who, seeing something disassembled and being
worked on, should out of courtesy and common sense, give a wide berth.

If it's any consolation, I have an AMI MM5 that's been running without the
cover for decades and it's fine. It's not in a smokey bar or greasy
restaurant to get gunked up, so it's clean as a whistle.
I looked for one for a while, but none of the usual suspects had one.
