Hello all,

Does anyone have an extra plastic cover for a Rowe MM-1 or similar
search
unit that they'd like to sell me? Please note that this is the cover
for
the search unit with a side connector and not the credit unit. I'm
assuming the cover was the same for many late '60s and '70s models. If
so,
please contact me off list at ianzap at hotmail.com.

Lesson learned: When there are teenagers in the house who pay
attention to
nothing but themselves, never put ANYTHING on the floor where it can be
tread on while working on your jukes. Thanks to my stepdaughter's
boyfriend, the aforementioned cover is now smashed to bits, and I have
to
replace the key to the cabinet which was severely bent after he tripped
over
the front piece of the cabinet while it lay on the floor. Hopefully
only
the key is damaged and not the lock. Considering the thing is
relatively
large and obvious, I'd have thought there was no way one could miss it,
but...

Anyhow, to those remembering my recent post on cleaning the circuit
board
from the search unit, I was not very successful in that as much as I
tried,
so I bought a new board from jukeboxparts.com. It resolved the
inconsistency in selections immediately, though initially I had an
alignment
issue causing me to get A6 when I played A1, A7 when I played A2, etc.
which
I fixed yesterday. There are still some periodic remaining issues I
will
post about when I have time to try some things and get better details,
but
essentially the new board allows me to actually play the selections I
want
now. I was quite pleased to see that I finally fixed something on this
box, though that joy was diminished by the damage caused by a
self-involved
teenager. At least it wasn't anything more serious though. :)

-Ian
