[Jukebox-list] Renaisance for AMI multi-horn systems?

I've been seeing a *lot* of discussion here of AMI F and G
series machines this last year. I recall when I first joined
this list several years ago, I almost had to defend my
ownership of a G-200. ("Why on earth would you want one of
*those*?!") Now the F and G machines seem to be the most
talked-about machines on this list. Maybe these neglected
jukeboxes are finally getting their due. They aren't as
flashy as their contemporaries from the other makers, and
they certainly seem like almost a different brand when
compared to AMI's Jetsons-styled machines that followed.
But they put on a good show and of course sound excellent.
(And I've already talked at length about my belief that they
were *not* "ugly" but intentionally designed to evoke the
"Hi-Fi" aesthetic of the mid-50s technophile's home system.)
Just wondering if anyone else has picked up on this, or
if the amount of AMI F and G traffic here is just an
anomaly.
