No, you can select either side or both. But if you
select both sides, it plays the right-hand side first,
which corresponds to the title on the bottom of the
title strip. So, if you have a two-part song (like
Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing" on a 12" Victor)
you have to make the title strip like this:
