The gripper bow on my AMI Continental was dropping some records and the gripper was touching some of the records in the carousal when scanning.
Apart from that every thing was working.
I reset the transfer motor as per the manual and reset the 6 cam switch screws.
I have had several attempts at this with the same result.    Both A & B side will select, and the record is placed on turntable and immediately returned to carousal, which starts to scan for the next selection.    When the record is placed on turntable the mute does not commence.   
I have made these adjustments many times in the past on AMI "K"s and Continental 1 &2 and have never come across this.
I have tried turning cam switch screw 6 a 1/4 turn extra like wise with cam switch screw 3 as per a trouble shooting sheet that I have from an old operator.
The only adjustments made where to the transfer motor position and cam switches.
