The 45 conversion is a bear to undo because so much is changed.
The LP conversion just puts 45 styli in the pickup and a new
gearset in the mechanism. Very easy to convert back - I was
lucky.

The key is the ramp. As you can see, the center of rotation of
the 10" record is closer to the transfer arm than that of the
12" record. Notice that when the record first touches the
ramp, it flips the ramp up. At a certain point in the transfer
cycle, the ramp is locked. With the 10" record, the edge of
the record is still far enough back on the ramp that it's
pushing it up, and the ramp locks up. With a 12" record, the
record has already passed the pivot point of the ramp when the
ramp locks, and so the ramp is locked in the down position. If
you get this right, everything else should fall into place.
Having the manual with the step-by-step mechanism setup
procedure is a big help, obviously.

Yes, it is. They did a very good job. Like I mentioned
earlier, however, I think I'm about ready for an amp
rebuild in that there is some distortion in the higher
frequencies. If you turn up the volume past about 3/4
it mostly goes away. I'm going to try replacing all the
tubes sometime this year and see if that clears it up.

I had two. This one had the armature loose. The other, which
I bought on Ebay, was filled with what looked like bathroom
caulking. It sounded terrible, and frequently bounced out of
the groove. Mine was the first that West-Tech rebuilt. They
offered to keep the Ebay one as a "test bed" in exchange for
the rebuild. I was fine with that because picking all that
hardened silicone out of it would have been a real nightmare.
