So, is it a simple matter to disassemble the motor?  And. more
importantly, a simple matter to *re*-assemble it? :-) I assume
one just cleans any accumulated crud off the shaft and bearings,
correct?  I've always kept mine well-oiled. but it's always been
just a hair slow the first couple plays after sitting overnight
(except in the summer).

That's real time.  If it was sped up the pitch of the music
would change, eh?  The reduced frame rate from YouTube does
make it look a little time time-lapse photography, however.
