Jay, and all,
  The spec. for all the TSR / TSU call for a type "MTH 5" amp line fuse--does anyone know what the difference between a "MTH" and a "AGC" type fuse is????

rectifier should fail shorted you want the fuse to blow rather than have 
the power transformer damaged. Some people also place an extra fuse at
