Kyle -
My "opinion" - I think it needs you. It looks sad and forgotten, and I
myself cannot bear to see old jukes being carted off to their final roundup.
This Aireon is rare and I hope you do get it and restore it. I don't think
they are all that attractive, and apparently they weren't all that sucessful
as a jukebox, but they deserve their place in jukebox history.
So please buy it! And keep us posted on your progress. I certainly hope
that ALL the parts are there, as I doubt if spares would be easy to find.
As for the record safety thing, I would think that the company COULD have
retrofitted some sort of safety, as soon as reports came in. I would thing
a long wire that passed up and down over the record stack, connected to a
microswitch, could have made sure no record was stuck. Why they did not do
this is a mystery. Seeburg had the same problem with their early model and
they recalled every one. Aireon should have done the same. The worst thing
that can happen is a machine getting a bad reputation from the operators.
