What effectively killed the Packards, the Aireon and the Filben was the
appearance of the Seeburg M100A.
It made these nice machines look like dinosaurs, and they were soon to be no
more. Safety switch or no safety switch....Packards could've used one, too.
Wurlitzer was deep in trouble too. 1949-52 must've been lean years for
everyone except for Seeburg. AMI and Rockola survived with low cost machines
and decent market shares. With dedicated 45 rpm machines, they made a
comeback.
