That's right. "Let the cartridge be your guide." The tracking
force specified in the manual will be the tracking force for the
stock cartridge. You need to set your tracking force to be within
the range specified by the manufacturer of the cartridge. You
can buy "DJ" cartridges that will track at heavier forces than
typical home stereo cartridges. They're heavier-duty than
regular cartridges, too, having been designed for the abuse they
ofter receive at clubs. Here's an example:
