Hi All!
I picked up an unrestored G-120 as I passed through Pine Bluff Arkansas
last week. This is my first AMI with the older 800 Series mechanism.
Luckily, a lot of my questions have already been answered as a result of
the "AMI PUSHBUTTON QUESTION" thread. You guys are good!
I have it partially disassembled now. I've removed the mech, rebuilt
all 3 motors and cleaned the 3 pin-bank modules. I think I will clean
the mech this weekend. I plan to use the following process:
With the motors and pinbank(s) removed, I soak the mech with a good
degreaser like Greased lightning for the heavy oil and grease.
Then blast it with my pressure washer.
Next I soak it with Dow Scrubbing Bubbles.
Another blast with the pressure washer.
Blow off excess water with compressed air and let it dry in the sun.
Oil all the moving parts and machined surfaces.
Wrap it in an old sheet
I hope to start replacing the rotten AC wiring this weekend also. I
ordered the manual, stylus, and amp cap-kit yesterday.
Finally, my question for the group - should I oil the pin bank or run it
dry?
Cant wait to hear this thing!
Thanks,
JP
