[Jukebox-list] AMI PUSHBUTTON QUESTION

David, the AMI models A & B do indeed use common slide switches and have
plenty of wipe. No so in later models that have minimum wipe. They seem to
work pretty good if care is used in returning buttons that have 'jumped'
out. Remember to use some backing on the shaft when resetting loose buttons.
We use 5/64 roll pins to set the buttons at the proper place.Wes

David,
Don't have one here either--but that's good in theory only, for most
jukebox "keyboards" (and other "connections" also). It does not always hold
true in "real life", even in commercial use--although it's better that way,
then in home use, as it gets more "action". "Stuff" just seems to migrate
into those switches, and cause a poor contact.

I no longer have one of these keyboards handy to check,
but aren't these switches "wipe upon make" in their
functioning, that is, one half slides against the other
after they first touch (or before they release)? If
that's the case, regular use should keep them functioning
once they're initially cleaned.
