You don't need to modify the harness at all.
On the new switch, remove the 3 screws and there are 3 washer type things
behind them.
Discard these. Then screw in the original attachments directly. The new
screws are larger, but when you turn the screwdriver it will open up the
holes in the original attachments and they fit perfectly. No cutting /
soldering or modifying of the loom necessary.

Aren't the three male tabs attached to the switch with round-head brass
screws? I think you can transfer the tabs to the new switch. Also
depending on the nature of the failure you may be able to drill a tiny
hole in the side of the old switch, give it a shot of CAIG De-Ox-It and
get a few more years out of it.
