Bob,
I sure did not stay up thinking about that--the thought just came to me this morning--
If you are using the volume control that's mounted to the amp, there is a "dummy plug" and "jack" at the bottom of the amplifer, next to the speaker plug. This combination connects the volume control to the amp. If you remove the "dummy", you can install a "remote" volume control into that "jack". To check the control, look at the schematic, pull the dummy plug out, and use a meter to check it. Ron Rich

That wud be me mr.Ron. Sorry didnt mean to keep you up at night thinkin about it but thank you very much. Havnt had time to reply to ur past 2 suggestions. I did replace the input resistor to match the one in the amp in my C. I will pull the amp again and recheck and clean the swithes. Not sure how to check the volume control other than its not all stiff or scrachie soundin. Also, please excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by volume controlplug/jack?
Many thanks again and sleep tight. Bob
